  1. Get 1 cup For Batter : Besan (Gram flour)
  2. Prepare tsp Ajwain (carom seeds)1/2

The recipe of Mumbai's first Vada Pav hasn't changed. The inventor's son was spotted carrying on his father's. The vada pav recipe is made of a spicy potato filling deep fried in a gram flour batter. Along with a hot and spicy garlic chutney, batata vada pav is served inside a small "Ladi Pav".

Steps to make Vada pav:

  2. In a bowl take besan…add salt, soda bi carb and ajwain. Make batter by adding water to make thick flowing consistency
  3. In another bowl take mashed potatoes and add salt, turmeric powder, chillie powder, chopped green​ chillies, chopped coriander leaves
  4. Make lemon size balls and dip in batter and coat properly and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown as shown in pic
  5. Take pav (bun) slit in center and apply garlic chutney and mint chutney on each side and put vada in between and press little.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy with hot tea or coffee

The vada pav recipe is made of a spicy potato filling deep fried in a gram flour batter. Along with a hot and spicy garlic chutney, batata vada pav is served inside a small "Ladi Pav".
