Make ready 400 g white fish (chunks or four fillets) / 14 oz.
Make ready 2 eggs hard-boiled (chopped)
Prepare 750 g potato peeled and chopped / 26½ oz.

Prepare 200 ml milk skim / 6¾ fl. oz.

Get 50 g potato from above (when mashed) / 2 oz.
Instructions to make Simple Fish Pie:
Put the potatoes in boiling water for 15-20 minutes until softened and whilst doing so: a) microwave the fish in a dish with a little of the milk for 3 minutes; and b) blend the cornstarch with a little more of the milk (adding it slowly while mixing).
Put the hot stock, most of the remaining milk (save 150 ml / 5 fl oz.), pepper, celery salt and nutmeg in a pan on high heat, add and mix in the blended cornstarch and bring to the boil. Mash the potato using the last of the milk, and then thoroughly mix 50 g / 2 oz. of it into the sauce.
Put the egg and fish (with its cooking milk) into an ovenproof dish, add the sauce and mix the ingredients together gently. Spoon the potato on top and pattern with a fork. Put the dish in a preheated oven (190oC / 375oF / Gas Mark 5) for 20 minutes. To finish broil / grill the potato for 5-8 minutes to brown the crests.
Serve on warm plates (with vegetables).
