  1. Get 6 idlis (cooked/ leftovers)

  6. Make ready 1/2 cup cabbage
  7. Make ready 2 tbsp spring onion
  8. Get 1 tsp red chilli sauce
  9. Make ready 1 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  10. Take 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  11. Get 1 tbsp vinegar
  12. Make ready 1 tbsp schezwan sauce
  13. Prepare Few drops orange food colour (optional)
  14. Prepare 2 tbsp oil

  16. Get 1/4 cup All purpose flour
  17. Make ready 2 + 1 tbsp corn flour
  18. Prepare 1 tbsp rice flour
  19. Prepare to taste salt
  20. Prepare 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
Steps to make Chinese Chilli Idli:
  1. First cut all idli into long strips.
  2. In a bow add all purpose flour, corn flour, rice flour,salt and red chilli powder,mix well,add water and make medium thick batter.
  3. Meanwhile heat oil in a wok, now dip idli pieces one by one into the better and drop into hot oil.Fry until nice golden in colour on medium to high flame.keep aside.
  4. Now in a pan/wok heat 2tbsp oil, add chopped garlic,stir for few secs. add onion,capsicum and cabbage.Saute on a medium heat for few minutes.
  5. Add ginger chilli paste,saute well.Add soya sauce, tomato sauce, vinegar, red chilli sauce, schezwan sauce,food colour and salt.Mix well.
  6. In a small bowl add 1 tbsp corn flour and water to make paste,add this corn flour paste in the pan and mix well.
  7. Add fried idli and saute until well combined.
  8. Chinese chilli idli is ready to serve.
