Wash chicken and marinate with listed ingredients.keep it marinated for 1 hour.
Heat oil in kadai and fry sliced onions.
In same oil fry chicken pieces with half of fried onions till 80% done.
In a large pot add lot water with cumin seed, oil and rice and salt, when 80% done, drain water and rinse.
In a patili at bottom sprinkle some rice, then layer with chicken, fried onion,again rice, fried onion, chopped coriander leaves, green chillies and sprinkle with food colour. Cover and simmer it on low flame for 15to 20 minutes, and serve hot.
