Hello everybody, hope you are having an amazing day today. Today, I’m gonna show you how to make a special dish, koshari. It is one of my favorites food recipes. This time, I’m gonna make it a little bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Koshari is one of the most favored of current trending meals on earth. It is enjoyed by millions every day. It is easy, it is fast, it tastes delicious. They’re fine and they look wonderful. Koshari is something which I’ve loved my whole life.

To begin with this recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can have koshari using 18 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Koshari:
  1. Make ready 2 tbsp oil
  2. Get 1 medium carrot finely diced
  3. Make ready 1 onion finely diced
  4. Make ready 4 cm piece fresh ginger
  5. Take 3 gloves, crushed
  6. Get 1 small red chilli finely diced
  7. Get 2 tbs tomato puree
  8. Get 2 tsp baharat spice
  9. Prepare 400 g tin chopped tomatoes
  10. Make ready 20 g brown lentils (I used red in this recipe)
  11. Make ready 400 g tin chickpeas
  12. Make ready 30 g organic brown rice
  13. Get 1 ltr vegetable stock
  14. Make ready 30 g vermichelli pasta, bashed into small pieces
  15. Get Handful fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  16. Take sprinkle of parsley, chopped
  17. Make ready to taste salt and black pepper
  18. Get 1 lemon, zested (optional)
Instructions to make Koshari:
  1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and saute the onion and carrot for 10 minutes until slightly brown. Add the ginger, chilli and garlic and cook for a further 2 minutes.
  2. Add the baharat spice, stir and cook for 1 minute. Add the tomato puree and tomatoes and stir well.
  3. Add the chickpeas, lentils, rice and vegetable stock and simmer on a low heat for half an hour. Add the pasta and season to taste. cook until the pasta is soft.
  4. Serve with crusty bread, a sprinkling of coriander, parsley and a grate of lemon.
