  1. First, wash rice and dal. Pressure cooker dal and rice by adding turmeric powder and salt in a pan heat vegetable oil and mustard seeds, followed by chillies and curry leaves.
  2. Add tomato puree, red chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder cook for a minute. Continue to cook dal and rice then transfer the boiled dal and rice for tempering and cook until it starts bubbling. For the final tempering heat ghee then add cumin seeds.
  3. Add red chilli powder and curry leaves, once it splutters add on top of the khichdi then add lemon juice and coriander leaves and serve hot.
